Situating tool

 Concept of situating tool:

Situating tools are systems/applications that allows the use of technology to create immersive and authentic learning environments that place learners in realistic or simulated scenarios. These tools enhance educational experiences by providing contexts that closely mimic real world situations, enabling learners to apply theoretical knowledge in practical ways and develop relevant skills. Examples of situating tool includes; virtual realities(VR), 3D computer simulated images experiential learning environment, simulation Instructional games. Integrating Situating tool in the classroom has multiple advantages such as it helps in comprehension and manipulating variables and fosters creativity & visualization skills.

We can integrate Situating tool in teaching and learning through experience of Virtual Reality Environment using Google Earth of the visiting place and knowing about the world. Calculate the distance of the place using Google Earth and also using educational software such as GeoGebra for predicting and observing the variables for generating line graphs.

Reflection or write up for the situating tool:

For the situating tool, we explored Google Earth for few minutes and we also played a game that represents virtual reality. Then we used GeoGebra to draw a triangle. To use GeoGebra, you can start by opening the GeoGebra website. GeoGebra is a powerful tool for geometry, algebra, statistics, and calculus. You can create geometric constructions, graphs, and interact with mathematical objects in various ways. It's a great tool for visualizing mathematical concepts and experimenting with different scenarios.
